Suspension lifted, Mayfield can race

NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield may have just won the war. A Federal judge has lifted Mayfield’s indefinite NASCAR suspension, allowing the driver to be at Daytona International Speedway for Saturday night’s Coke Zero 400.

Mayfield has said that he would definitely be in Daytona this weekend, but he didn’t know whether or not he would be fielding a car. That would all depend on whether or not he could come up with the money to get a car and crew there.

“We are disappointed, but we respect the judge’s ruling,” NASCAR said in a written statement. “This is only a temporary injunction. The legal case continues beyond this point, and we will continue to make our case.”  Examiner

The Federal Government & Nascar needs to reinvent the testing of drugs, due to the fact that this Meth is made of cold medications, if someone was to take over the counter cold meds, had a drug test they too would fail, Nascar needs to do some rethinking of the testing they do, I’m proud that Mayfield took this to the Federal Level, Nascar needs to let him race, He probably won’t be able to race this week so be on the look-out for him in future races, he’ll get financial & sponser ship going,,, no problem,,,,,,,,,,,Good Luck Jeremy Mayfield

He wasn’t able to get ANYONE to sponsor him for Daytona, so who knows , he may be in the tank already. As far as that goes, can’t say that I blame them… As far as the drivers go, I know there are people out on the track that were glad he wasn’t out there, and if I were a driver I would be too….
