Was Joey Logano moved up into NASCAR’s premier division too soon?

Many had high expectations for Joey Logano when it was announced he would replace Tony Stewart in the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 Home Depot Toyota. While some of the veterans in the garage noted that Gibbs would be wise to have a good bit of money budgeted for replacing racecars for the young rookie during 2009. So far, it seems the wisdom of the veterans is bearing out. Was Logano moved up into NASCAR’s premier division too soon? Would he have been better served to run a full season in the Nationwide Series before jumping into the deep end of the pool? Many would say yes and perhaps Joe Gibbs budget would not be taking such a hard hit early on in the year. Insider Racing News

I think Joey did move up to fast, but what options did Joe Gibbs have? Joey Logano brings allot of attention & sponsors with him.

I definitely think it was too early for him to run the cup series. I have been trying to figure out why he wasn’t started in the Nationwide series to begin with???
There were other options for JGR. Joey may have brought attention and sponsors with him but the sponsors will be walking very soon if he doesn’t start performing and then where will that leave Gibbs????
