There will be no Chase for Earnhardt Jr in 2009
Dale Earnhardt Junior wasn’t in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup in 2005 and 2007. And unless drastic measures are taken at the No. 88 team Dale Earnhardt Jr. won’t be in the 2009 version. Saturday night at Phoenix proved to be another disastrous race in a season of disastrous races for Earnhardt and his Hendrick Motorsports team. It was another round of bad pit stops, missed chassis set-ups and spins that has put NASCAR’s most popular driver deeper in an already deep hole. … Earnhardt said before Texas that he had already taken steps to try and figure out what is happening. He met with executives from Hendrick Motorsports prior to Martinsville in an effort to get pointed in the right direction. The 88 team needs a good run to get momentum, maybe Talladega will be the track.
i believe the problem for Junior is his crew chief tony eury. i mean they were having problems at DEI and they blamed it on bad equipment well now hes with HMS obviously it aint the equipment since we all know that jimmie johnson has won the previous three championships and he and the rest of HMs continue to dominate while earnhardt struggles i say lose eury or junior is going to continue to lose and never win the championship that has eluded him since he joined the cup circuit.
Lamont I hate to say it but I have to agree with you, eury jr needs to do something else and let someone like chad step in to the roll of crew chief, give Jr a car that will respond to him the way he wants it to and he will be fine, tony cant seem to get that done.
It definitely has nothing to do with the fact that Jr. isn’t the best driver out there does it? Haha. It makes me laugh that it’s NEVER Dale Earnhardt Jr’s fault.
i think JR. just needs to step back get together with his team and everyone air it out and get on the same page. equipment failures happen and so do accidents, but JR needs to let all that go and get back to basics.

I read something about JR having health issues like his dad. In a race or two Sr. passed out behind the wheel. There saying Jr is having signs of those same issues. AND hes probably under a ton of stress. his sister Kelly Has cancer, and hes trying to stay in the game w. HMS you know, you get a new boss of course your gonna try really hard. and hes gotta hang onto sponsors and keep his fans. he was involved in a bunch of wrecks like 4 races in a row and after that it was all down hill from there. I hope he makes a comeback. If not i hope his fans will stay fans and continue to support, even if he isnt on the right track right now.

yea back when he was in his winnig ways his crew chief was tony eury sr. then the crew chief changed and it went from there thats what i think
One name that i think could keep JR in check….Tony Eury SR! Way more success with him calling the shots. He is old school and can keep the driver in check
Get rid of Eury Jr and put pops back in, Jr will then be problem free.
